Devices for mobile communication, such as mobile phones and wireless networks have become articles of daily use. These devices grow constantly in their complexity, similarly to the corresponding radio transmission standards. Components of mobile communications are also increasingly used in automobiles to increase driving comfort and safety. This trend requires extensive testing of new developed devices regarding their compatibility with various wireless standards.

Emulation of Air Interfaces

The emulation of air interfaces can be effected by varying the signals on RF level or also in the baseband. The latter require a demodulation with subsequent modulation in the signal chain. The emulation of air interfaces in the RF level occurs exclusively by variations of the amplitude and / or the propagation time of the RF signals themselves. The information contents (modulation) remain unaffected.


QATT – Quad Attenuator

With the aid of the QATT devices, field strength scenarios with four independent HF channels are possible. The QATT device is available for use in the field of mobile radio signals up to 4 GHz. QDLL – Quad Delay Line

The device QDLL is a 4-channel programmable delay line for the frequency range 250 MHz ... 4000 MHz. Each RF channel provides a setting range of 0 ... 1700 ps and is adjustable in 5 ps steps.

AIE-W5 – 5 Port Car-to X Emulator

The AIE-W5 is a radio field simulator for Car-to X applications. Each RF port is designed for bidirectional operation and is connected to each of the remaining ports via adjustable attenuators. The device is designed for operation up to 6400 MHz and thus also suitable for the WLAN standard IEE 802.11p (5.850 to 5.925 GHz).

AIE-S6R – Cellular Handover Emulator

The AIE-S6 is especially designed for handover scenarios between the mobile bands such as LTE, UMTS and GSM. The device contains band-selective filters for the various mobile radio bands. Via adjustable attenuators, the levels of each mobile radio band can be varied in fine steps via a remote control interface. With the AIE-S6, Roaming scenarios can be produced reproducibly in laboratory environments.
